Kali, Escrima and Arnis are three branches of a philippino stick and machete fighting and defense system.

While mainly training in Escrima at Festival Martial Arts, the system taught also has influences from Kali.

Kali/Escrima is the main martial art weapon system taught at Festival Martial Arts using escrima sticks both single and double stick drills along with partner work.

Students at Festival Martial Arts  have competed at WUMA competitions with Escrima drills.

Grading in Escrima takes place once or twice a year and students start by being assessed to Level 1 certification. Festival Martial Arts assessments run from level 1 up to level 5.

Training in Kali/escrima runs within the normal martial arts classes. Although seminars can be arranged.

The Kali Centre

Due to the Corona virus and expected social distancing measures which are likely to be required when we are able to return to the village hall, we will be increasing the kali/escrima element of the martial arts classes.  Since returning returning we are running the Kali Centre curriculum developed by instructor Paul Ingram.
